02-17-2010 - Shooting a Friend

...err, well, maybe I should have said 'injecting' a friend. Tonight is the magical night. I have agreed to be a friend's "shot buddy". I have been deemed sane enough to take a rather large needle and jab it into her upper buttock. So what makes me qualified? Hmmm...I've given myself about 1000 injections, went through shot training, watched numerous videos...heck, I've even injected another friend, but the first time is always...hmmm...interesting. If things go well, I'm committed to doing this for about 12-14 weeks....which I'm looking forward too, but...I just want the first one done with already!

Saturday - Can you say tired?

Well, here it is almost 1 pm. I didn't get out of bed today until about 10:30 am, and I could already go back to bed! TIRED! I did however make fresh blueberry & strawberry pancakes! Yum!!!

Looking forward to my next shot today! Yea! Only a small little round, reddish, purplish dot on the injection site....I'll have a whole collection of them before too long...I might have to get a tankini to cover up my belly with all my spots before too long. Yea, Shopping! Now there is something to look forward too!

Friday - Amazed By Psychological Torture

I never thought that holding a syringe in my hand aimed at my abdomen would make me feel so uneasy. Looking down at the roll of skin between my fingers made my hands sweat. I sat in the chair posed to inject myself with the drug, but my brain kept telling me it was wrong to do that to myself, that I would be hurting myself. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with needles and I knew that it wouldn't 'really' hurt, but my mind was screaming so loudly that it was hard to 'do' it. After abut 15 mins of sitting in the darkened Dr's office I plunged the needle into my prepped skin, depressed the plunger, and removed the needle. It didn't hurt, but there was a burning feeling as the Lovenox was going into my system. I guess I just knew I had to do it if I wanted to become a mother. It's amazing what we will do for our children, born or unborn. One done, appox. 250 more injections to go.

Highlight - I bought a container of Bryer's "Fried Ice Cream" flavored Ice Cream! TASTY! Thought I needed it for being so brave. :)

Thursday - SHOTS?!

Today the delivery peps called to set up the delivery of my shots and said they were not shipping them until Tuesday of next week....UNACCEPTABLE!

Thankgoodness, with a few phone calls my Drs found 4 syringes of Lovenox at one of the offices. Yea! I'm ever so greatful! So, gota go get them so I can have my "lesson" tomorrow! :) I'm going to get poked! LOL!

Got my #'s as well...DPO15 = 213 & DPO17 = 563! Yea!
